Sir Michael expresses sadness at passing of late Governor Agiru

Governor-General, Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio , has expressed great sadness at the passing of the Governor of Hela province, the late Hon. Anderson Agiru.

Sir Michael described the late Mr. Agiru as a staunch visionary and a force in the political arena.

He said the late Mr. Agiru was an up and coming leader who played a pivotal role in the development progress of Southern Highlands and the new Hela province and in advocating for national unity and ensuring peace and order is maintained in the two provinces.

β€œI am truly saddened to hear of the passing of the late Governor Mr. Anderson Agiru.”

The people of Hela and Papua New Guinea have lost a great leader and son.

β€œOn behalf of Lady Esmie and Office of the Governor -General, we extend to the family, relatives and people of Hela province our heartfelt sympathies and condolences and pray that peace and comfort be with you all,” Grand Chief Sir Michael said.
