Nigerian Envoy presents credential to Governor-General
Governor-General, Grand Chief , Sir Bob Dadae, accepted the Letter of Credence from the High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr Bello Kazaure Husseni at Government House during a presentation ceremony on 11 April, 2019.
Papua New Guinea and the Federal Republic of Nigeria formally established diplomatic relations on 20 May 1980.
Grand Chief Sir Bob , on behalf of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the Government and the people of Papua New Guinea, welcomed Mr Husseni to Papua New Guinea and assured him of the government’s support in furthering relations between Papua New Guinea and Nigeria.
“I welcome you to Papua New Guinea. We are indeed pleased to receive you and look forward to enhancing and furthering the already good bilateral relations that exist between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Papua New Guinea,” Sir Bob said.
Papua New Guinea and Nigeria are both members of the United Nations, the Commonwealth and the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group.
Meanwhile, Mr Husseni pledged to serve the common good of the two countries and peoples. He is resident High Commissioner in Australia and accredited to Papua New Guinea.
