New United Arab Emirates Ambassador to PNG presents credentials
The new Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Papua New Guinea, H.E. Dr Mohamed Omar Abdulla Balfaqeeh, presented his letters of Credence to Governor General, Grand Chief, Sir Bob Dadae, at Government House on Thursday, August 15, 2019.
When accepting Dr Balfaqeeh’s credentials, Sir Bob said he looked forward to further enhancing the newly established bilateral relations with UAE, in the areas of trade, tourism and agriculture, including exchange of visits and culture, as that would be beneficial to both countries and peoples, and also, a way forward to developing and strengthening both countries’ relations.
Both Papua New Guinea and the United Arab Emirates share the common desire to uphold democratic principles, promote peaceful co-existence and security in the in their respective regions as well as internationally.
PNG and UAE are also committed to addressing issues of mutual concern, such as climate change, human rights and advancing the comprehensive sustainable development goals.
Dr Balfaqeeh also conveyed warmest greetings of his President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Sir Bob and the people, and added that his focus would be on developing the bilateral relations between his country and Papua New Guinea.
