Marape expresses gratitude to Indian government for support
The Prime Minister, Hon James Marape , has thanked the Government of India for presenting US1 million dollars to help Papua New Guinea in its relief efforts on reconstruction work to infrastructure damaged by recent natural disasters.
The Indian High Commissioner to PNG Mr Vijai Kumar presented the cheque to Mr Marape today at his National Parliament office.
Mr Marape thanked the Government and people of India for their kind assistance, and added that “a friend in need is a friend indeed”.
The Prime Minister later presented the cheque to the Natural Disaster Emergency Controller, Dr Bill Hamblin, for related purposes.
