Papua New Guineans honoured for outstanding services
About 80 individuals from the public and private sectors have been recognised for their outstanding services to the country during the investiture ceremony at Government House on 4 April 2019.
Among those recipients were Chief Justice, Sir Gibbs Salika, who was awarded the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (GCL), for service to the community and the judiciary and Most Reverend Rochus Tatamai, who received the Companion of the Order of Star of Melanesia, for services to the community and the Catholic |Church.
Other categories under the Orders of Papua New Guinea also include Distinguished Military Service Media, Distinguished Police Service Medal and Distinguished Correctional Service Medal, for members of the Disciplinary Forces, as well as the National Logohu Medal (LM), Member of the Order of Logohu (ML), Cross of Medical Service (CMS), Meritorious Public Service Medal (MPS) and Meritorious Community Service Medial (MCS), for civilians.
The recipients were awarded in the 2019 New Year’s Honours and Awards List .
